Castleman disease Treatment in Hyderabad

overview

Castleman’s disease is a rare disease in which cells in your body’s lymph nodes overgrow. The most common form of the disease affects a single lymph node (unicentric Castleman’s disease), usually in the chest or abdomen.

Multicenter Castleman’s disease affects multiple lymph nodes throughout the body and has been linked to human herpesvirus type 8 (HHV-8) and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).

Treatment and outlook will vary depending on the type of Castleman’s disease you have. The type that only affects one lymph node can usually be operated on successfully. Castleman disease Treatment in Hyderabad

The reasons

It is not known what causes Castleman’s disease. However, infection with a virus called human herpesvirus 8 (HHV-8) has been linked to multicenter Castleman’s disease.

The HHV-8 virus has also been linked to the development of Kaposi’s sarcoma, a cancerous tumor that can be a complication of HIV / AIDS. Studies have shown that HHV-8 is present in almost all HIV-positive people with Castleman’s disease and in about half of HIV-negative people with Castleman’s disease.
